Privacy notice
How ITOC Academy handles your personal data on this learning platform.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, an optional headline, and your password. The password is stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash and is never readable.
- Learning records: the courses you enrol in, the lessons you complete, your video watch time and resume position, your quiz attempts and scores, and the certificates you earn.
- Security data: your sign-in time. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated sign-in attempts and is not stored with your profile.
Why we use it
We use this data only to provide your courses, track your progress, issue certificates, and let your course administrators support you. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. The platform has no analytics or advertising trackers.
Who can see it
You can see your own data. Platform administrators can see student names, emails and learning progress. Our infrastructure providers (hosting, database and file storage) process data on our behalf.
Some lessons embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. When you play those, the provider may receive your IP address under its own privacy policy. YouTube videos use its privacy-enhanced mode.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and every learning record are permanently removed.
Your rights
- Access and portability: download all your data from Profile → Your data.
- Correction: update your name and headline on your profile.
- Erasure: delete your account yourself from your profile page, or ask the platform administrator.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies. Course videos and files are served only to signed-in learners who are enrolled in that course.
